Q. Can I keep my same e-mail address?
A. Yes! In fact, none of your e-mail settings will need to be changed at all.
Q. Will my password remain the same?
A. Yes! Your password will not change.
Q. Will my local dialup number or settings change?
A. No, you will continue to use the same dial up number.
Q. Will my billing rate remain the same?
A. The monthly rate will remain the same. Paid in advance rates may change, please contact billing@uia.net
Q. Will bills still be mailed to me?
A. Yes; if you have been receiving bills through the U.S. mail rather than paying via a monthly credit card charge, you will continue to receive your bills through the U.S. mail. Further, the same terms will apply.
Q. Where do I send my payment?
A. Starting immediately, please send your payment to 374 S. Indian Hill Blvd., Claremont, CA 91711. Be sure to make your check payable to UIA.
Q. Do you honor all credit cards?
A. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Q. Who is UIA, and how long have they been in business?
A. Ultimate Internet Access (UIA) is one of the largest Internet service providers in the Inland Empire. Our primary service area encompasses the same area previously served by Digital Highways. UIA started business in March, 1996, and has been a leader in offering 56kb access, ISDN, DSL, and other Internet solutions for its growing family of customers. Learn more about UIA.
Q. Can I keep my shell account?
A. Unfortunately, no. For security reasons, telnet shell accounts are not allowed. However, you will still be able to continue using ftp for uploading and downloading web pages.
Q. Can I make my own web page? How much web space?
A. Yes! You will have 5MB of server space, at no extra charge, in which you can create your own personal homepage.
Q. Does UIA support Macintosh?
A. Yes! In fact, several members of our tech support team specialize in Macs. Instructions for changing your dial up number are available for Macintosh pre-System 8.0, and Macintosh System 8.0 and above.
Q. Will UIA support my modem?
A. Yes! We support all modems up to and including 56K.
Q. What other services does UIA offer?
A. In addition to dialup service, UIA also offers ISDN, DSL, dedicated T-1 and fractional T-1, firewall services, and Web Design and Hosting for both residential and business customers.
Q. What will the new technical support hours be?
A. The technical support hours will expand: 8am to 11pm, seven days a week.
